-q

Use character for CSV-style quoting.

Syntax

-q [QUOTE_CHARACTER]

Description

Values that contain the delimiter character will be surrounded by the [QUOTE_CHARACTER]. The default [QUOTE_CHARACTER] is double quotes (").

Example

In the following example, the delimiter character is changed to /. One of the values in the table, *o/23, uses the delimiter character. You can use the -q switch and a character (in this case $) to encapsulate the value so that it is not split:

$ tendo -u [USERNAME] -p [PASSWORD] -g [GATEWAY] pub.demo.baseball.batting . -n 1 -c / -q $

The result is the following:

hatfijo01/1871/mut/na/33/168/41/43/50/3/2/0/22///10/3/4///0/$*o/23$/hatfield/john///7/20/1847/1871/30023

Note that *o/23 is surrounded by the character $ so that the value is not split up.
