--mask-character

Specifies the default masking character (double quote) of the flat file being loaded.

Syntax

--mask-character=MCHR

Description

The masking character encapsulates the text in the variable width text fields.

To specify a masking character in its hexadecimal or octal representation, prefix MCHR with 0x or 0 respectively. To load data without a masking character, set MCHR to none or \0. Any other MCHR must resolve to a single printable ASCII character.

Example

"text" is encapsulated by ". The masking character would be the double quote (").

|texttext| is encapsulated by |. The masking character would be the pipe (|).
