[QUERY]

A valid query to retrieve data from an ODBC-compliant database.

Syntax

[QUERY_TO_EXTRACT]
@[PATH_TO_QUERY_FILE]

Description

You can add a query directly into the TenUp command. However, for more complex queries, it is best practice to save the query to a file. If [QUERY] begins with @, this indicates a path to a file containing the database query.

Example

The query in a basic TenUp command is used to extract data from your source database. The most common form of this is an SQL query. The simplest SQL query is
"SELECT * FROM [SOURCE_TABLE_NAME];"
A TenUp command using this query may be:
$ tenup64 -u [USERNAME] -p [PASSWORD] -C [CONNSTR] [NEW_TABLE] "SELECT * FROM [SOURCE_TABLE_NAME];"
