-j, --segby

Specifies the column or columns by which to segment the table.

Syntax

-j [SEGBY1],[SEGBY2],[SEGBY3],...,[SEGBYn]
--segby=[SEGBY1],[SEGBY2],[SEGBY3],...,[SEGBYn]

Description

Segby segments a table by a column or columns so that all like values for a given column are stored together. For example, if a table is segmented by date, all values for a given date must be located in the same segment.

After loading the table, the contents of all segments are reorganized so that the table is segmented by [SEGBY1], [SEGBY2], until [SEGBYn].

For an overview of segmentation options, see Segmentation options.

Note: --segby cannot be used with --sortseg.
